Inter Receive Pair of Bad News from Their Chilean Veterans

Alexis Sanchez will start the season on the shelf because of a lingering calf injury he picked up in Copa America. Moreover, Inter would not mind selling Arturo Vidal given his large salary, but the midfielder is refusing to move.

Pablo Bilad, the president of the Chilean Football Association, talked about Sanchez to ADN Radio: “It will be tough to rely on him in the early going. He suffered a pretty complicated injury. We hope he could arrive here in time, but the situation is serious.”

It is unlikely that the attacker will be available until after the first international break. Simone Inzaghi will not have Lautaro Martinez at this disposal as well in the opening match versus Genoa. Given the delays in the transfer market, Edin Dzeko and Stefano Sensi will form the first offensive tandem of the season.  Youngster Martin Satriano will be the only alternative, La Gazzetta dello Sport informs.

Inter have been trying to part ways with Vidal to reduce their payroll. Instead, the player wants to honor the final deal of his initial contract. He is currently the highest-paid player on the squad alongside Sanchez. They both earn €7M annually.

Inter Miami recently inquired about the midfielder, but he rejected the destination, La Tercera informs. He believes he can still be competitive in Europe. Plus, he desires to bounce back from a disappointing and injury-riddled season. Flamengo and Club America had tried to sign him earlier in the summer, Calciomercato.com informs.
