Inter Reignite Transfer Links for Borussia Monchengladbach Star Forward

Alexis Sanchez’s future at Inter is still in the air, despite his wonderful display in the 4-0 routing of Cagliari at the Giuseppe Meazza over the weekend. The Chilean has suffered from the lack of game time because of recurring injuries and is touted to depart the Nerazzurri in the upcoming winter transfer window.

Given his potential departure, Inter are reportedly keen on reigniting their interest in Borussia Monchengladbach forward Marcus Thuram. As per the Tuttosport report (via SempreInter), Thuram is one of Inter’s main targets for reinforcement upfront, alongside Lautaro Martinez, Joaquin Correa and Edin Dzeko.

The Parma-born Frenchman was linked with the Milan giants in the summer transfer window too, as a potential replacement for Romelu Lukaku, but Inter got Edin Dzeko for free instead.

The 24-year-old’s contract in Germany expires in June 2023.

If Inter are to get him, they will have to broker a deal with Dutch-Italian agent Mino Raiola, who recently revealed in in an interview with German channel Sport 1 (via FCInter1908) that Thuram would have been a Nerazzurri by now, had he not got injured at the end of last season.

The versatile forward, who can operate in a plethora of roles in the final third, has a transfermarkt value of €28m – a drop of around €10m since the middle half of this year.
