Inter Reject Juventus Approach for Star Midfielder

Serie A champions Inter have reportedly knocked back Juventus’ approach for Italy international Davide Frattesi. According to Gazzetta dello Sport’s report, the reigning Scudetto holders refused to discuss the 24-year-old’s exit, as Simone Inzaghi sees the versatile midfielder as a vital component of his set-up.

Juventus have been among the clubs keen to take the former Sassuolo star away from Giuseppe Meazza. Perhaps driven by Frattesi’s undefined status at Inter, Thiago Motta’s men have contacted the Nerazzuri to discuss the Italian’s switch to Turin. But they received a resounding no from their bitter rivals.

Frattesi swapped Sassuolo for Inter last summer. But he struggled for regular first-team opportunities in his first season in Lombardia. His impact off the bench was telling. Despite being frequently used as a substitute, he bagged eight goals and added seven assists in 42 appearances across all competitions.

Therefore, it’s unsurprising that Inter are unwilling to sell the prolific midfielder. Yet, they are on the verge of offloading Martin Satriano to Brest. The Uruguayan forward spent last season on loan at the Stade Francis-Le Ble, convincing the club to hand him a permanent contract in Ligue 1.

Inter will reportedly earn around €7 million from the 23-year-old’s transfer to Brest. Satriano’s exit will strengthen Inzaghi’s war chest and potentially encourage the 20-time Italian champions to rekindle their interest in Genoa talisman Albert Gudmundsson.

Beppe Marotta recently played down the club’s interest in the Icelandic forward. With Satriano leaving Inter and Joaquin Correa soon to follow, it’s hard to take Marotta at his word.
