Inter Rumored to Be Highly Interested in Spezia Captain

Inter are looking for some young midfielders, possibly Italian ones, that could potentially be signed next summer. On top of Davide Frattesi, they are keeping tabs on Giulio Maggiore. They will be able to take a close look at him in today’s game at San Siro.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Inter have been attentively monitoring his growth over the last few seasons. The 23-year-old impressed the scouts in his first campaign in Serie A, proving that he belongs to the top level. Moreover, he has gained significant experience, tallying 46 appearances and 3 goals

Arturo Vidal and Matias Vecino might be on their way out in 2022. The Uruguayan international is on an expiring contract and wants a bigger role. The front office would not mind moving from the Chilean veteran due to his high wages. However, he is tied to the club until 2023. If they both left, Inter would have to replenish their depth at the position, preferably with not-so-expensive purchases.

Maggiore would fit the profile more than Frattesi, who is likely to be in high demand next summer. Moreover, the management has a strong relationship with his agent Alessandro Lucci. He also represents Edin Dzeko and Joaquin Correa and was instrumental in bringing them to Milan after the departure of Romelu Lukaku. In addition, Maggiore is an Inter fan. The front office could propose a loan spell with a decent initial fee and an option to buy, plus bonuses related to team and personal objectives.
