Porto’s visit to Inter yesterday was a sell-out at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza, sealing a record matchday income for the Nerazzurri – the second-highest in club’s history. Thanks to a lone instinctive strike by Romelu Lukaku, Inter head to Portugal with a narrow aggregate lead ahead of the UEFA Champions League quarter-final stages.
There were reportedly 75,374 spectators at San Siro yesterday, granting the club an income of €6,758,321 – the highest in the season so far.

However, according to FCInterNews, the highest matchday earner at home for the Nerazzurri remains the return group stage clash against Barcelona in the UCL 2019/20 season, which was won 2-1 by the visitors – thrashing Antonio Conte’s Inter out of Europe’s top-tier and into Europa League. However, it was not all bad for Inter, as the club recorded an income of €7,889,495 from that clash.
Third in the list comes a Derby d’Italia encounter against Juventus in 2019, recording an income of €6,620,976, followed by the narrow Derby della Madonnina win over Milan this season – €5,832,142
Inter have recorded financial problems in the recent past, but seem to be transitioning gradually into a comfortable position. The club are currently in talks with Turkish Airlines to become the main shirt sponsor following disparities with current partner DigitalBits.
