Following the news of Milan Skriniar’s departure from the Nerazzurri ranks at the end of the season, Inter are seeking to avoid yet another similar saga with starter Alessandro Bastoni. The 23-year-old defender enters the final year of his existing contract the end of the campaign, and with top clubs looking to sign him, Inter are in a race against time to extend his stay.
In an exclusive interview with SportMediaset (via Calciomercato), Bastoni reassured the club ahead of a potential contract renewal deal.
“Right now I feel satisfied, I’m fine here. My family is fine here, so for now everything is fine,” before going on to give his opinion on the Serie A title race: Naples? The gap is huge and it’s useless to hide it, but we want to win and between now and the end of the season we’ll try to win them all.”
Bastoni’s contract at Inter expires in the summer of 2024, having last extended it in 2021. In order to avoid a situation similar to the one experienced with Skriniar, the club management have already established first dialogues with the player’s entourage.
