Inter Set Deadline to Sell Onana to Manchester United

The opening bid by Manchester United to lure André Onana was lower than what requested by Inter, but the negotiation will continue in the next few days. The Red Devils have identified some alternatives, but he’s their top priority for the role, Alfredo Pedullà reports.

The English giants tendered €40M plus €5M add-ons. Instead, the Nerazzurri wish to get €50M plus easily achievable bonuses that would bring the sum to €60M. The Italian side wants to conclude the deal by June 20th since they have many balls in the air.

Giuseppe Marotta and co. are preparing in the event Onana does join Manchester United. They have inquired about Marco Carnesecchi with Atalanta. They didn’t place a bid, and La Dea intends to keep the youngster on their squad in 2023/2024. Shakhtar Donetsk’s Anatolij Trubin is currently top of the list for the position.

According to CBS Soccer, Al Nassr have tabled a sizeable proposal for the Cameroonian international as well. On top of Marcelo Brozovic, they will put under contract third-string goalie Alex Cordaz.

Our Take on Manchester United and Onana

The gap isn’t that wide and could easily be closed with some more back and forth. While it’s always preferable to get major things done sooner rather than later, the only true deadline is the end of the transfer window.
