Inter Poised for Pivotal Talks to Sign Young Argentine

Inter will host both Independiente Rivadavia and Talleres in Milan in a summit to sort out the Tomas Palacios deal. It has a few different components since he’s on loan to a team that has an option to acquire him, Tuttomercatoweb informs.

The Nerazzurri are willing to offer €6/7M to bring in the defender. After a long search, they have zeroed in on him to deputize Alessandro Bastoni while Tajon Buchanan recovers from injury and Carlos Augusto is needed more on the left wing.

Inter must come to terms with two sides to snap up Palacios. Independiente Rivadavia have a €2M clause to buy half of his card in 2024 and the rest for the same sum in 2025. They can’t agree to sell him on their own, even by giving half of the profits to Talleres.

The player favors the move from Milan but there’d be competition if the Italian champions didn’t seal the deal quickly. He has suitors in the Bundesliga and received a rich proposal from Saudi Arabia.

Our Take on Inter and Palacios

It’s a more complex situation than usual, but it helps that the sums at stake are relatively low. It shouldn’t be too much of an issue for the sides to work their way through the hurdles. Another team coming in over the top with a large offer is always a possibility, but things appear headed in the right direction. Then the matter will be whether he’s truly ready for the big stage. The Nerazzurri have already paid their price for inexperience in the back in the early going.
