Inter Set Priorities Among Their Incoming Renewals

Inter have lined up a few contract extensions, and some are more urgent than others. The player closest to the expiration date is Henrikh Mkhitaryan, who’s also drawing outside interest. Their main priority is Federico Dimarco, who’s due for a pay raise. After sorting those two, which should happen soon, the Nerazzurri will focus on Lautaro Martinez and Nicolò Barella, Gianluca Di Marzio informs.

The two aces are already tied to the team long-term, but the club wishes to reward their performances. El Toro spoke on the matter to Sky after the win over Benfica.

“Renewal by the end of the year? I wish it will happen. My agent is working on it. I’m great at Inter, and my family is comfortable in Milan. There’s no reason to change.”

His representative Alejandro Camano weighed in earlier in the day.

“He loves this great club, and doesn’t want to leave.”

Inter chief Giuseppe Marotta tackled the topic to Mediaset and Sky.

“Lautaro has grown over the years and has become a champion. He’s a leader off the pitch too. He has always talked to us first during any negotiation. He has important qualities. His extension is the least of our concerns. He has more responsibility and a winning mentality. In my opinion, he has yet to mature completely as he’s still very young. He measures up with the present and the past greats.”
