Inter Set Sights on Torino Starlet Amid Benjamin Pavard Standstill

Inter and Bayern Munich remain locked in talks for star defender Benjamin Pavard. There’s still a gap between the Italians’ offer and the Germans’ request, but a dialogue proceeds with optimism. However, if negotiations come a cropper, I Nerazzurri will turn to Torino starlet Perr Schuurs, as per Calciomercato.

Even though Pavard clearly prefers Inter over Bayern, the parties have been unable to come to terms. While Simone Inzaghi’s men look to close a deal at around €25 million, the record-time Bundesliga champions are sticking to their €35m valuation.

The Frenchman would be an ideal replacement for Milan Skirniar, who left Serie A to team up with Paris Saint-Germain. Yet, unless Inter can find a quick breakthrough, they could dismiss their interest in Pavard. Time has become a factor, and Inzaghi cannot afford to wait any longer.

Schuurs is another profile carefully considered by Inter. The 23-year-old has gone from strength to strength since leaving Ajax for Torino in 2022. The Dutchman developed into one of the hottest defensive prospects in his first season in Serie A.

His rise to stardom in Turin hasn’t gone under the radar. Several foreign clubs have registered an interest in Schuurs. Torino paid Ajax €10m a year ago, but his value has since tripled. That could be a potential problem for Inter. They operate on a tight budget after onboarding half a dozen new signings.
