Inter Set to Rival Milan for Torino Wing-Back

Inter won’t let their arch-rivals Milan rest easy this summer as they plan to hijack another Rossoneri attempt to reinforce their roster. According to La Reppublica, the Nerrazzurri have joined their neighbors in the race to sign Torino wing-back Wilfried Singo.

It’s barely been a week since Inter crushed Milan’s dream of landing Marcus Thuram. Simone Inzaghi’s side made a last-gasp move to land the French forward when it looked like he was on his way to linking up with Stefano Pioli’s troops. And it worked out perfectly, as they announced the 25-year-old’s arrival on Saturday.

Milan must be feeling a sense of deja vu seeing Inter plotting to intercept their effort to bring Singo to San Siro. The Rossoneri have already knocked on Torino’s door to ask for information about the 22-year-old, who made 31 Serie A appearances last season, tallying two goals and two assists.

They viewed the Ivory Coast international as a cost-effective signing, considering his contract in Turin runs out next summer. However, Torino won’t let their rising star leave for less than €15 million, a figure that could scare Milan away. But not Inter, who are searching for a replacement for Raoul Bellanova.

He won’t be coming back to Giuseppe Meazza next season after Torino captured his signature upon the expiration of his loan spell in Lombardy. Like Milan, the Nerazzurri would like to drive the price down. But if they sell Andre Onana to Manchester United, money won’t be a problem.
