Inter Setting the Table for Their Next Bosman Signing

Jonathan David, who’s been routinely linked to several Serie A sides, is still at Lille despite an expiring contract, and Inter are seriously thinking about him for the future. This kind of acquisition needs to be set up in advance. They might start doing so relatively soon, Tuttomercatoweb informs.

The Nerazzurri still hold out some hope of landing Albert Gudmundsson, but there’s not much traction regarding the exits of Marko Arnautovic and Joaquin Correa. They wouldn’t have room for an addition if one or both stayed. On the other hand, their deals are up in 2025, same as the Canadian star.

If Inter can’t sign a striker this summer, they’ll shift their attention toward attempting to land David on a free. He has the right traits to round out their frontline, which will revolve around Lautaro Martinez, Marcus Thuram, and Mehdi Taremi for the foreseeable future.

The forward recently spoke with RMC Sport.

“My intention is to return in the Champions League with Lille. It’s the most beautiful competition.”

President Olivier Letang doubled down.

“I don’t want to make promises I can’t keep, but, the more time passes by, the more likely it is we’ll keep him.”

Our Take on Inter and David

It’s weird that no team is after him with serious conviction, but perhaps he’s simply comfortable where he is unless a super duper-sides shows interest, and perhaps there’s still a chance for a renewal. The Nerazzurri are obviously great with this type of deal, and he’s young enough for their new ownership to sign off on it eventually.
