Inter Reportedly Shortlist Promising Nantes Defender

Inter have been seeking a left-footed center-back ever since Tajon Buchanan broke his leg and have shown concrete interest in Nantes’ prodigy Nathan Zeze. The Nerazzurri are taking their time to find the right man.

According to Foot Mercato, the youngster has multiple suitors in England, but he’s been persuaded by the Italian champion’s project. If it were up to him, he’d rather move to Serie A. However, he won’t fight his own team if that’s not possible. The two sides are far off from concurring on his price tag.

Per Calciomercato, Nantes want no less than €15M to sell Zeze to Inter or other clubs. The Scudetto holders are building their budget through secondary sales.

His agent Phi Hung Ta Van recently spoke to Tuttomercatoweb.

“He’s one of the talents with the highest potential in Europe, so many sides are following him. The Nerazzurri are among the best in the world, so it’s an honor when a like that is keen.”

The 19-year-old became a regular for the first team last season, making 14 appearances in a rotational role. He has played once with France U-18.

Our Take on Inter and Zeze

Oaktree will have to either change its mind and sign off on onboarding a veteran or greenlight a medium-sized investment. He’s very green but would fit what they are looking for. They’d have a couple of years to groom him and decide whether he’s a keeper for the future.
