Inter Shortlist Three Alternatives for the Right Flank

With Chelsea and Manchester United tracking Denzel Dumfries, Inter are quietly considering possible replacements. Milan Skriniar is now closer to staying, so the Dutchman might be made available to help the team’s finances.

As per Tuttomercatoweb, the fullback could depart for offers upward of €35/40M after he was signed for €15M last year. If that were the case, La Beneamata would pursue Alvaro Odriozola and Wilfried Singo. The former is back at Real Madrid following a loan spell at Fiorentina. While he wishes to stay and compete for minutes, it’s not yet certain it’ll indeed happen.

The Nerazzurri and the Granata discussed the Ivorian wing-back while negotiating for Valentino Lazaro. The reject is on his way to Turin in a season-long move with a €6M option to buy. He could directly replace the starlet, whose price tag is significant, though. According to TuttoSport (via FootballNews24), coach Simone Inzaghi wouldn’t mind reuniting with Manuel Lazzari if Dumfries left Inter. But the relationship with Lazio is strained.

The Scudetto runner-ups have already signed Raoul Bellanova on the right flank this summer. But they would most likely bring in a more established name if they were to part ways with their ace.

Our Take on Inter and Dumfries

While there’s more optimism on the Skiniar front, it seems that a major sale will come regardless. It took the Dutchman a while to find his footing, but he was a proper force down the stretch. The potential replacements are okay, but only Singo has similar potential and Torino are an expensive boutique. In this scenario, they should consider leaning on Matteo Darmian and Bellanova on the right and sign a solid Robin Gosens insurance on the left.
