Inter Shortlist Three Forwards to Arrive in the Summer

Inter have reportedly shortlisted three attackers to join the Nerazzurri’s forward line. After having onboarded Edin Dzeko and Joaquin Correa to replace now Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku, it looks like the Italian champions are keen on further bolstering their ranks.

Alexis Sanchez looks set to depart Inter at the end of the season, whereas Dzeko is nearing the latter stages of his career and Lautaro Martinez’s future at the club remains uncertain – prompting sporting director Piero Ausilio and the management to consider bringing in new faces.

According to latest reports from La Gazzetta dello Sport, three names are being considered for a move to Giuseppe Meazza. Lille striker Jonathan David, Juventus’ Argentine playmaker Paulo Dybala and Sassuolo marksman Gianluca Scamacca are all contenders for a transfer to Inter.

Canada international David is valued at €50m by Lille, according to transfermarkt. The 22-year-old will not be an easy target, given his stature at the French champions but warding away Inter will not be an easy task. He moved from Belgian giants KAA Gent in the summer of 2020 and has since grown to become one of Ligue 1’s hottest attacking prospects.

Dybala, on the other hand, is in a contractual war with the Bianconeri. The 28-year-old’s future looks uncertain and Inter have been continually linked with the playmaker since the recently concluded winter transfer window.

Young Neroverdi talent Gianluca Scamacca is the most likely contender of the three to move to the blue and black divide of Milan. Sassuolo CEO Giovanni Carnevali has already conceded the fact that it will not be easy to hold onto his club’s talents, including Scamacca, amid roaring interest from Italian clubs for the 23-year-old.

Inter are well in contention to win their second successive Scudetto title, in what looks like a three-horse championship race alongside Napoli and city rivals Milan.
