Inter, Simone Inzaghi: “We Will Play With a Knife Between Our Teeth”

Inter manager Simone Inzaghi is eager to face Real Madrid for the first time in his career as the Nerazzurri host Los Blancos at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza.

Inzaghi gave his thoughts on what to expect from his side and what he in turn expects from Carlo Ancelotti’s men.

Speaking to Inter TV, ahead of the Champions League group opener clash, the former Lazio coach commented: “We have to be vigilant against Real Madrid. They have great dribblers and we must know how to handle them for as long as possible. I am concerned about the organisation that Real Madrid have.”

“We will play with a knife between our teeth and we hope to have one of our best nights in front of our fans,” he added.

Both teams have changed coaches since the last time they met in the group stages last year, with Antonio Conte and Zinedine Zidane being replaced by the current two gaffers.

Inzaghi has faced Ancelotti before, when the latter was in charge of Napoli and the Inter coach has bestowed words of praise on the former Rossoneri tactician.

“Pippo talks about him very highly because he is a great coach, a born winner, one of the most successful in the history of football. It is a pleasure to talk about football with him,” he said.

The two European giants will look to get off to the best possible start as Group D kicks off along with Shakhtar Donetsk and Sheriff Tiraspol.
