Inter Star Avoids Injury, Inzaghi Moves On from Derby Loss

The aftermath of the Derby was not too traumatic at Inter despite the tough loss to Milan. The whole brass was at the training center yesterday. However, there was no grand speech by the executives or by Simone Inzaghi to address the faux-pas, La Gazzetta dello Sport reports.

Ivan Perisic left Saturday’s tilt early due to a calf issue. He did not require further tests as it was just a major cramp. He will be available for the Coppa Italia match versus Roma, although the coach will probably rest him amid some natural rotation.

The presence of the management in practice after matches is a custom for Inter, and the Derby was no different. Giuseppe Marotta and company did not speak to the squad, if not for some brief words of encouragement. Nobody within the Nerazzurri put too much emphasis on the Milan comeback.

Inzaghi discussed what happened in the previous game as usual and quickly started preparing the next one. The lineup will change a little. Felipe Caicedo was a late scratch for the Derby due to muscle fatigue, and he is in doubt for Tuesday as well.

Federico Dimarco will most likely play over Perisic on the left flank to avoid any sort of issue. Alexis Sanchez will get the nod in the attack next to either Edin Dzeko or Lautaro Martinez. Joaquin Correa hopes to be ready for the Liverpool clash following another thigh strain. However, the timetable for his return remains up in the air, the publication adds.
