Inter Starting to Get Busy on the Goalkeepers’ Market

Inter are examining some goalies as they might not keep their current deputy Emil Audero. They have a pretty good evaluator in that regard, Samir Handanovic. After taking a close look at Leuven’s Tobe Leysen, he was in the stands for Monza-Roma to monitor Michele Di Gregorio, TuttoSport informs.

The Italian shot-stopper was recently linked to Juventus. His agent ruled out a return to Milan, where he spent time as a youngster, due to his €20M price tag. On the other hand, the Nerazzurri are heavily embroiled with the Brianzoli on the transfer market. They might cook up a deal offering some makeweights.

Inter could offer Gaetano Oristanio, who’s having a solid season at Cagliari, or propose to prolong the loan of Valentin Carboni to lower the disbursement. Di Gregorio might not be much more expensive than Audero considering the €6.5M option to buy him from Sampdoria.

The Monza star would come in as a backup and take over from Yann Sommer in the coming years. Instead, Leysen would be an investment for the future. They tried to do that with Brazao. He didn’t pan out and just headed back to Brazil on a free transfer.

Our Take on Inter Eyeing Goalkeepers

If Di Gregorio is willing to be an understudy at first, then they should go after him, but he might get a prestigious starting job elsewhere right away. If they don’t find anything they like, they could just try to renew the loan of Audero.
