Inter Striker on the Chopping Block Starts to Draw Interest

Alexis Sanchez has fallen off the radar in the last couple of weeks, and Inter are not-so-secretly looking for ways to offload him in the summer. The Nerazzurri wish to shed his cumbersome salary to have more breathing room in their payroll.

The Chilean veteran is under contract for another season for €7M. The front office would gladly divert such sum to Paulo Dybala. According to Tuttomercatoweb, his agent Fernando Felicevich received inquiries from Galatasaray and Trabzonspor.

The Turkish sides would be open to bringing Alexis Sanchez in if he got a severance package from Inter. His representative has a good relationship with the Cimbom. He engineered Erick Pulgar’s move there in January, although his loan spell is not going swimmingly.

The 33-year-old has not appeared in the most recent two matches. The return from injury of Joaquin Correa has pushed him to the bottom of the offensive pecking order. Moreover, coach Simone Inzaghi preferred adapting Ivan Perisic to second-striker and inserting Robin Gosens rather than field him against Verona. It was unusual as, while the striker has started just eight times in Serie A and Champions League, he has appeared consistently off the bench.

On top of the Turkish teams, Alexis Sanchez has recently been linked to River Plate, but their director Enzo Francescoli quickly rubbished the ties to the Inter attacker: “Nobody discussed such topic with me, and there is nothing more to add. It is news to me, and I do not know who started this rumor.”
