Inter continue to scavenge the market for a left-footed defender with upside and an affordable price tag, and the search has taken them to Valencia, as Yarek Gasiorowski is the latest talent to fall on their radar, TuttoSport informs.
He’s represented by Sergio Barila, the same agent as their newcomer Josep Martinez. He’s under contract until 2025 but with an option for two more years. His deal envisages a €15/20M release clause.
Inter have already poked around Gasiorowski with his representative. He has collected 14 appearances in the most recent season, starting 5 of the last 6 matchdays. The Valencia product had been playing in the lower leagues until then. He has 24 caps and 7 goals with Spain U-19 under his belt.
The Nerazzurri are expected to accelerate their efforts to sign a new defender once they complete a trifecta of exits. Martin Satriano is close to Brest in a €6M move, although he’s thinking about it. Lucien Agoumé should return to Sevilla for €4M and a 50 percent resale clause. Valentin Carboni’s loan to Olympique Marseille should fetch €1M this summer.
Our Take on Inter and Gasiorowski
They have had a cautious approach because they want to find exactly the right guy, and he’d been one of the most unexperienced they have tracked so far, and since they have to raise funds first. They’ll strike once that happens, and they identify somebody who combines a high ceiling with a price tag they believe to be near or below market value. It doesn’t look like they are there yet.
