Inter Talk with Taremi Camp Again, Eye Atalanta Pair

Inter held another meeting with an intermediary assisting Mehdi Taremi, and things are moving in the right direction. They have struck a verbal agreement for a contract till 2026, with an option to extend it for one further season. The parties are also pondering a release clause valid from his second campaign, Fabrizio Romano informs (via SOSFanta).

The Iranian stalwart has accepted the destination. It’s now up to the Nerazzurri to sort the details. There have been daily contacts to reach the final steps, which include a formal notice to Porto. He could be brought in for the medicals and the signature relatively quickly after the AFC Asian Cup.

According to Corriere della Sera, Taremi will earn €3M at Inter. He’s not the only addition Giuseppe Marotta and co. are trying to set up in advance. They have set sights on an Atalanta duo, Juan Musso and Emil Holm, TuttoSport relays (via Fantacalcio).

The Argentine could replace Emil Audero as a backup goalie. They would have to spend €6.5M to redeem their current deputy from Sampdoria. Instead, Atalanta are set to buy out the Swede for €8.5M. The Nerazzurri considered him once Juan Cuadrado got hurt. He would become a target if Denzel Dumfries departed in the summer.

Our Take on Inter and Taremi

They are down to the nitty-gritty, and it’d be stunning if he didn’t join. Who he’ll replace is a better question. He’s more similar to Marko Arnautovic than to Alexis Sanchez.
