Despite his desire to stay and perhaps finish his career with the Partenopei, there has been no tangible progress in recent weeks. He turned down offers from Lazio and Ah Ahli to continue with the Scudetto holders. He was likely hoping he’d get a new contract quickly.
That hasn’t happened yet, though. Zielinski will be in high demand next summer, with Juventus and Inter, and a few foreign sides tussling to snap up his services gratis.
Napoli bid adieu to Lorenzo Insigne in such a fashion in the recent past. The Nerazzurri have been highly proficient with this instrument. They successfully lured Hakan Calhanoglu, Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Stefan De Vrij, and Marcus Thuram without paying a fee.

He’d have the pick of the litter if Napoli really let his contract run out. La Beneamata is formidable with Bosman additions, even though they are stacked in the midfield already. If they smell it might be possible, it could affect the ongoing negotiation with Mkhitaryan. He’d make more sense for Juventus technically speaking. The Azzurri should stop beating it around the bush and open talks already.
