Inter to Challenge Juventus for ‘Gladbach Wing-Back

Juventus aren’t the only ones tracking Remy Bensebaini, as Inter pursued him in the past and are ready to rekindle their interest, should he really decide not to extend his expiring contract with Borussia Monchengladbach.

As per La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Nerazzurri eyed the Algerian international before they signed Robin Gosens last January. They have maintained a good relationship with his agents. They could go after him either in January or next summer if the ex-Atalanta man didn’t return to his previous levels. La Beneamata considered selling him to Bayer Leverkusen late in the past window.

Inter could have a leg-up over Juventus in the Bensebaini race as they can add him in early 2023. Instead, the Bianconeri have to until the end of the season. They have filled their quota of extra-EU players with Leandro Paredes and Filip Kostic.

The German side could agree to sell the wing-back for €5/8M in the winter given the situation. His salary would be affordable for both Serie A sides. He currently earns €2.2M and will likely ask for €3/3.5M per year to his next team.

Our Take on Inter and Juventus eyeing Bensebaini

He makes more sense for the former, which have more tactical clarity. Instead, the Old Lady goes back and forth on that front, and he could get lost in the shuffle there. In addition, they acquired a fairly similar player in Filip Kostic last summer. Plus, they have two youngsters out on loan in the same role. Instead, the Nerazzurri could easily decide to move on from Gosens. There isn’t a lot of time to evaluate his trajectory before the January window, but they might have already made the call.
