Inter to Open Talks for Udinese Playmaker Samardzic

Inter are expected to hold talks this week for Serbian playmaker Lazar Samardzic, who is also on the radar of derby rivals Milan. The 21-year-old attacking midfielder has excelled in his two seasons in Udine so far, racking up 7 goals in 63 appearances for the Friulani.

According to latest information relayed by Sportitalia, Inter will negotiate a deal for the €30M man within the next few days. However, Inter are not the only club interested to lure him from Udinese. Roma are also eyeing Samardzic as a direct alternative for Sassuolo prodigy Davide Frattesi, who is also on the radar of the Nerazzurri management.

Milan and Napoli have also expressed interest in the former RB Leipzig player, but Inter are reportedly in pole position to sign him following his breakthrough campaign. The loss of Marcelo Brozovic to Al-Nassr has amped up efforts at the Meazza to reinforce the squad, and Samardzic could prove to be Brozovic’s successor.

He still has three years left on his Nerazzurri contract.

The Hertha Berlin youth product recently switched allegiance to Serbia, having accepted manager Dragan Stojkovic’s invitation to star for the national team. Samardzic initially starred for Germany’s youth teams, from the U16 to the U21 level, but already has two appearances for the Orlovi since making his national team debut.
