Inter to Keep Working on the Acquisition of Martinez

Inter didn’t seal the Josep Martinez deal last week as expected. Some issues emerged concerning Gaetano Oristanio, whom Genoa had chosen as the makeweight. Venezia swooped in late, and he might prefer going there as he could have a bigger role.

The Nerazzurri have had fresh talks with two potential alternatives, their long-time target Bento and Villarreal’s Filip Jorgensen, Sky informs. As it pertains to the former, they have never been able to agree on his valuation with Athletic Paranaense. The Danish goalkeeper extended his contract until 2029 in recent weeks.

Inter and Genoa are set to re-discuss the Martinez operation in short order. Per Il Secolo XIX, it might go through with no other players involved for a €15M fee. The two sides had yet to concur on the formula for Oristanio before Venezia barged in. While the attacker has been valued at €5M, the Nerazzurri wanted to maintain a future buyback clause, and the Grifone disagreed with that.

The youngster might transfer on a simple loan if the two sides can’t find common ground. La Beneamata had reportedly tendered Martin Satriano, Mattia Zanotti, and Francesco Pio Esposito as potential alternatives.
