Inter to Play Hardball with Chelsea on Onana and Lukaku

Inter and Chelsea will soon meet to discuss a few players, Romelu Lukaku and André Onana in particular. The Blues are seeking a new starting goalie, but, despite the good relationship between the two sides, they will have to pay up to sign the Cameroonian international.

According to Alfredo Pedullà, the Nerazzurri would only budge for offers exceeding the €60M threshold. They won’t make discounts to the counterparty, even though they are interested in some of their players. Guglielmo Vicario is the heir apparent, but the switch between the sticks isn’t imminent.

Inter will also attempt to fill their void in the back in the talks with Chelsea centered around Onana and Lukaku. They are keen on Trevoh Chalobah, whom they pursued in the past, and Kalidou Koulibaly, Gianluca Di Marzio informs. The ex-Napoli star will become a target only if he can transfer on loan. They will also probe Ruben Loftus-Cheek, as they need another midfielder.

La Beneamata wishes two signs two center-backs. They are tracking Aarhus’ Yann Aurel Bisseck, who has a €7M release clause in his contract. He’s a staple in the Austrian’s U21 team. An intermediary will be in Italy Tuesday.

Our Take on Chelsea, Onana, and Lukaku

The Blues’ extra-large squad and confusing transfer market strategy could easily lead to some bargains. On the other hand, it remains to be seen whether they will be willing to allow out-of-favor players to depart for advantageous terms without getting anything substantial in return. The shot-stopper is the big prize.
