Inter Trying to Acquire Highly-Touted Racing Midfielder

Inter deputy director Dario Baccin recently returned from a mission in South America, and one of the players he recommended signing is Racing midfielder Carlos Alcaraz. There have been some contacts between the parties. His price tag isn’t low, but the Nerazzurri might have the right bargaining chip.

According to TuttoSport, the 19-year-old could depart for €15M and make the same journey as Lautaro Martinez. The Nerazzurri envision completing the purchase in the summer, but the possible January departure of Roberto Gagliardini could move up the timetable. The talent would be an ideal deputy to Nicolò Barella in their mind.

Inter could use striker Facundo Colidio as a makeweight to lower the monetary cost of Alcaraz. The center-forward hasn’t had much success in Europe, but he has shown well during a year-long loan spell at Tigre. He has recorded 8 goals and 8 assists in 44 appearances and has suitors in Argentina.

The agent of the Racing prodigy Sebastian Lopez recently talked to Tuttomercatoweb.

“I’ve had some conversations with the Nerazzurri and Milan last summer. There were multiple offers, but none was accepted. He’s worth €12/15M, maybe a little less if the buyer includes a re-sale clause. We’d be happy to discuss again with the two Italian clubs. Colidio being part of the package is a possibility.”

Our Take on Inter Tracking Alcaraz

La Beneamata could surely use more high-upside prospects. Roberto Gagliardini isn’t giving them much, but considering how thin they are, it’s unlikely he’ll leave in January. Substituting him with a talented youngster would be the way to go, but they have to consider that a much more established one like Kristian Asllani hasn’t managed to break into the squad yet.
