Inter are gearing up for Wednesday’s Coppa Italia final against Juventus. CEO Giuseppe Marotta discussed the upcoming clash: “It is an important stage for us because we have not won this trophy in a long time. The fans, ownership, the players, and the front office are all rowing in the same direction. We want to bring it home. Especially because it will be another edition of the Derby d’Italia, the most important one in my mind.”
The veteran executive talked to DAZN: “It is normal to think about the Scudetto as well. There is a lot at stake for us this week. Achieving these goals would be the reward for our sacrifices throughout the season. We aim to win some silverware. Inter could reach their first objective Wednesday with the Coppa Italia, and so we are currently focusing on that. Then we will see where things are at Thursday. There must not be any distraction. For a sportsman, it is nice to have this kind of pressure and deal with multiple competitions at the same time.”
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, president Steven Zhang invited the entire staff to the match. Inter organized a train for 300 people in order for them to attend the Coppa Italia final. The rumors about Suning selling the team have ceased, as their commitment has no expiration date. The Nerazzurri have not won the domestic cup in 11 years. A triumph could be worth up to €10M. They already beat Juventus in the Supercoppa earlier in the season.
