Inter Unlikely to Do Business with Barcelona Despite Recent Reports

Inter have been linked to Jordi Alba in the Spanish press, but other targets are more realistic for the flanks. Moreover, they turned down trades proposed by Barcelona, especially those including their top defenders. Their interest in the Spanish fullback is not particularly high due to his price tag and wages, Alfredo Pedullà reported.

The Blaugrana tried to orchestrate swaps involving Milan Skriniar and Alessandro Bastoni. Inter would rather hold onto both, or at most consider sales for sizeable offers, Calciomercato.com reports. The Italian center-back recently extended his contract till 2024, more than doubling his salary.

Inter were keen on Emerson Royal, whom Barcelona brought back from Real Betis. However, the Brazilian right-back will likely remain in Catalunya next season. Jordi Alba could indeed leave if he refused to take a pay cut, but a move to Serie A is improbable.

Inter are working on multiple options to replace Achraf Hakimi, whose sale to PSG is imminent. They are eyeing Manuel Lazzari, who is very familiar with Simone Inzaghi. The Lazio wing-back could be on his way out as he is not a great fit for the four-man defense. His evaluation is around €20M, but the relationship between the two clubs is ice cold, to say the least.

Denzel Dumfries is high on their list, but he is pretty expensive, and his great Euro is turning heads across Europe. They are tracking Davide Zappacosta, but Chelsea may resist sending him to Inter if Hakimi picks PSG over them as rumored.
