At the Giuseppe Meazza Stadium in Milano, Italian champions Inter took on Coppa Italia winners Juventus with the Supercoppa Italiana on the line. The Bianconeri took the lead through Weston McKennie’s header, but Lautaro Martinez brought the Nerazzurri back on level terms from a spot kick before the end of the first half. However, we had to wait until the very last minute of extra-time to witness another goal, as Alexis Sanchez pounced on a fumble inside to box to snatch the winner of the Beneamata. So here are out player ratings for the dramatic Super Cup clash between Inter and Juventus.
Inter XI
Samir Handanovic – 6
The Inter captain could do little on McKennie’s opener, and was rarely troubled for the rest of the match, as Simone Inzaghi’s men were generally the dominant side.
Milan Skriniar – 6.5
The Slovakian had a tough battle against Morata. While he managed to prevent the Spaniard from scoring, the latter still put through a cross that led to the Old Lady’s lone goal.
Stefan De Vrij – 5.5
The experienced Dutchman looked shaky at times, and completely lost track of McKennie ahead of Juve’s goal.
Alessandro Bastoni – 6.5
The young Italian was solid at the back and at the same time offered his usual contribution in the attacking phase. His heroics from the weekend were definitely hard to follow by, but still put a reputable display tonight.
Denzel Dumfries – 6
The former PSV man had decent performance. Almost found the back of the net with a second half header but was denied by the combined efforts of Perin and the post.
Nicolò Barella – 5.5
A forgettable display by the high standard of the Euro 2020 winner. Inter missed his thrilling runs as well as his usual combination with the strikers.
Marcelo Brozovic – 6
As always, the Croatian was man-marked by either Morata or Kulusevski. While he still escaped from pressure on some occasions, it was far from being a classic performance from the formidable Regista.
Hakan Calhanoglu – 6
The Turkish midfielder tried to threaten with some long range efforts, but failed to be dangerous overall. His best moment in the match is arguably his cross which almost led to a goal from Dumfries.
Ivan Perisic – 6.5
The former Bayern Munich star ran his socks off for 100 minutes before getting a deserved rest. He was involved in all phases of the match, and was even defensively solid.
Lautaro Martinez – 6.5
The Argentine left Perin with no chance as his penalty kick leveled the score. He was adamant on completing his brace in the second half, but was denied by the Juventus goalkeeper.
Edin Dzeko – 6.5
The former Roma striker earned the spot kick that brought the Nerazzurri back on level terms. He also put Perisic through on goal with a magnificent backheel.
Inter Substitutes
Alexis Sanchez – 6.5
The Chilean was barely noticeable on the pitch, however, he delivered when it mattered the most, keeping his cool to put the ball past Perin right at the buzzer.
Joaquin Correa – 5.5
The Argentine was left frustrated by Chiellini’s crafty defending.
Arturo Vidal – 6
A hard working display against his former club, even if he didn’t provide much quality.
Matteo Darmian – 6.5
The Italian provided the assist for the dramatic winner after pouncing on Sandro’s mistake.
Federico Dimarco – 6
The former Verona man delivered the cross that led to the final goal.

Juventus XI
Mattia Perin – 6.5
The former Genoa man was left stranded against Lautaro’s spot kick and could do little about the winner. Nonetheless, it was an impressive performance overall, as he made some vital saves against the likes of Dumfries and Martinez to keep Juventus in the match.
Mattia De Sciglio – 5.5
The former Milan man was the hero last Sunday, but this time, he allowed Inter back to the match with a clumsy challenge on Dzeko. Also committed a mistake late in extra-time that could have led to a goal.
Daniele Rugani – 6.5
The Italian once again proved that he deserves to be more than a benchwarmer. Kept Dzeko in check for the majority of the match, but could little on Sanchez’s late goal.
Giorgio Chiellini – 6.5
At the age of 37, the captain was still able to deliver a high-caliber performance for 120 minutes. Made some crucial interventions and is unlucky to end up on the losing side.
Alex Sandro – 5
It was decent if unspectacular display from the Brazilian for 120 minutes, but ruined it all on the very last gasp. Failed to clear Dimarco’s cross properly, allowing Sanchez to deliver the killer blow.
Federico Bernardeschi – 6
It was an up and down performance from the former Fiorentina man. Had his moments when he proved to be the main source of danger for Juventus, but should have done better when he found himself in front of goal early in the second half.
Manuel Locatelli – 5.5
The Italian fought hard against the Inter midfielders, but didn’t provide enough quality for Max Allegri’s midfield.
Adrien Rabiot – 6
The Frenchman was trusted on the pitch for the whole match, and generally did not disappoint. Didn’t add much in attack, but made some crucial interceptions at the back, including one to deny Perisic.
Weston McKennie – 6.5
The American broke the deadlock for Juventus with a well-taken header, but ran out of steam as the match progressed, and was visibly struggling in his movement during extra-time.
Dejan Kulusevski – 6.5
The Swede had a tactical role to play above all. He did well for the most part against Brozovic, and his slick movements proved to be an important key for Juventus early in the match.
Alvaro Morata – 6.5
The Barcelona-bound striker once again provided the assist with a sublime cross, this time for McKennie’s header. However, he was barely given a sniff at goal for as long as he lasted.
Juventus Substitutes
Paulo Dybala – 5.5
The Argentine threatened with a long range shot, but failed to tip the scale in favor of the Old Lady.
Arthur – 5.5
Offered very little, and never truly inspired in the middle of the park.
Moise Kean – 5
Another listless display from the young striker.
Rodrigo Bentancur – 6
Added some quantity, but without the much-needed quality.
