Inter Weighing Up Winter Move for Monza Talisman

Inter and Monza could soon meet at the negotiating table again to open a dialogue over Andrea Colpani’s future. As per Calciomercato, the rising Italian star has caught the eye of the Nerazzurri CEO Beppe Marotta.

Colpani’s quick rise to stardom has been a major talking point during the early 2023/24 Serie A campaign. After only starting ten league games last season, the 24-year-old has developed into one of Raffaele Palladino’s most trusted allies this term, starting all eight top-flight matches. He has repaid the manager’s trust with four goals.

But Monza could fall victim to their own success, with Inter already setting the board for Colpani’s arrival. Nerazzurri and Monza have developed a strong connection despite Adriano Galliani’s previous ties with Inter’s fierce rivals Milan.

From Stefano Sensi’s loan in 2022/23 to Carlos Augusto’s switch in the summer, Inter and Monza have completed several pieces of business in recent years. Colpani could be the last coup, but Palladino’s men won’t let their gem go without a fight. Aware of the midfielder’s potential, they’ve recently tied him down to a new deal until 2028.

Inter can rely on the player’s representative, Tullio Tinti, to bolster their case. Tinti looks after Simone Inzaghi’s interests, amongst other things. That’s not to mention Alessandro Bastoni and Matteo Darmian belong to his prominent stable of clients. With that in mind, it stands to reason he could try to broker Colpani’s move to Inter at one point.
