Intermediary to Handle Talks Between Inter and Chelsea

Sebastien Ledure, the agent of Romelu Lukaku, is slated for a first formal meeting with Chelsea to negotiate his return to Inter. Despite the numerous rumors about the negotiation, it has yet to kick off, La Gazzetta dello Sport informs.

The Nerazzurri are hoping it won’t drag, even though the Blues want a robust sum to part ways with the Belgian. They have zeroed in on him and haven’t earmarked alternative options.

Al-Hilal offered €50M to Chelsea to onboard Lukaku, but the striker isn’t keen on moving to Saudi Arabia, while Inter won’t put that much money on the table. The striker reportedly turned down an approach from Milan earlier in the summer. Instead, he hasn’t had direct contact with Juventus.

The Blues want €45M for the marksman. La Beneamata will stop €10M short of such a threshold, but they might propose a permanent transfer rather than just a loan with obligation to buy. The center-forward is eager to come back and will facilitate the move by settling for the same wages he had during the Antonio Conte era, €7.5M per year, rather than the higher ones he enjoyed in Premier League.

Our Take on Inter and Lukaku

It might take some time, but the deal has good chances of going through. They’d basically spend most of what they will get for André Onana, which is a questionable choice.
