Inter’s Marcus Thuram Hopes to Emulate Father’s Serie A Legacy

At the start of the summer window, Inter conclusively made Marcus Thuram a Nerazzurri, putting an end to a long-drawn transfer saga. The French striker, who moved to Inter from Borussia Monchengladbach, has settled well already into life as a Nerazzurri and can’t wait for the season to start, eagerly awaiting to be paired with Lautaro Martinez upfront.

The son of Juventus icon Lilian Thuram, Marcus spoke to the official club website and expressed his desire to excel in Serie A as an Inter player.

“I get along very well with my new mates, they all work very well and hard. The first time I spoke to coach Inzaghi he told me he was very happy to have me with him at Inter: we have to work to do good things this season. Serie A fascinates me because my father also played here, it will be nice for me to do it in a big team like Inter. I can’t wait to play at San Siro.”

Thuram then disclosed his rapport with Argentine center-forward Martinez.

“Lautaro and I challenged each other in the World Cup final, but now we will play together: we hope to be able to collect many goals, assists and win games for the fans, whom I hope to meet soon at San Siro to experience some great moments.”

25-year-old Thuram will don the number 9 jersey as a Nerazzurri, following four years leading the Gladbach frontline in the Bundesliga.
