Roma have appealed to reduce Jose Mourinho’s two-match, which will see him miss out the clashes away against Juventus and at home to Sassuolo. In a tense clash against Cremonese, the Special one was handed a red card following his spat with fourth official Marco Serra. Along with a two-game ban, Mourinho was also fined €10,000 for his conduct.

The FIGC’s Federal Prosecutor’s Office has opened an investigation into altercation between Serra and Mourinho, where the latter blamed the former for behaving in a condescending manner moments before he saw a red early in the second-half. Mourinho also asked the audio of their exchange to be released for clarity into the few minutes of sideline squabble.

The Italian Referees Association denied any such doings, but several media outlets online eventually released videos surrounding Mourinho’s claim, where Serra is heard saying: “Everyone’s taking the piss out of you.”
