Inter coach Simone Inzaghi sat down with the press to preview the clash with Real Madrid: “What happened in the past, including last year, is water under the bridge. We have a major opportunity to write the present. It is a tough group, but we want to advance.”

“Our competitors will do everything to give us trouble. We have recovered well from the Sampdoria match, and we are preparing the best we can. It will be challenging given their history, coach, and players. They handle the ball very well, and they continuously attack the space behind the defense. Inter will have to be attentive in the passive phase and make them run a lot.”

“Experience is key, and I managed almost 50 contests in Europe. Carlo Ancelotti surely has much more, as he is one of the most accomplished gaffers in history. In any case, it will be a great night in front of our fans. We are eager. Inter have not made it to the Round of 16 in 11 years. We have a clear goal in mind.”

“Vinicius is in great form, but we can not forget their other top players like Karim Benzema, Rodrygo, and Eden Hazard. They are very organized, which is Ancelotti’s specialty. We must not give up many chances because they can score at any moment.”

“Alessandro Bastoni wants to play. He will test it out in practice, and we will see where he is at with his sore thigh. Inter have to improve compared to the last bout, but we also suffered because of the numerical inferiority in the last minutes. We have to focus on the present, take care of the ball when we have it and recover it quickly. We need the perfect game tomorrow.”
