Simone Inzaghi took the opportunity to address the recent criticism and rumors about his future after advancing to the Champions League’s quarter-finals by holding Porto to a tie in the return leg. The coach spoke with Mediaset and Sky (via SOSFanta).
“We played a very good game, and the guys were excellent. We have a fantastic group that showed up against a difficult opponent. Kudos to them, who made history for Inter. It’s time to celebrate. I’m very serene now. When the time will be right, I will speak about it. I owe it to myself and my family. I know who’s behind the snipes, and I select whom to listen to. This was a great feat.”
Inzaghi defended what the team achieved this season.
“We are second in Serie A, and we want to keep it that way. We reached the Coppa Italia semifinals too. Let’s enjoy this achievement now. I’m very happy with the work of my staff. The credit goes to the players too, who gave us trophies and results Inter hadn’t obtained in a long time and were unexpected. I wish to dedicate the qualification to the fans. Inzaghi was bitter toward those who targeted him for their missteps.
