Inzaghi Focuses on Fiorentina, Mentions Skriniar’s Return

With the Coppa Italia final against Fiorentina approaching, Simone Inzaghi conveyed his confidence in his squad’s abilities and highlighted the importance of maintaining their focus and intensity. With a crunching season finale ahead, the coach expressed the need to take it step by step in light of the high-profile challenges they have coming their way.

Speaking to the press in his pre-match interview (via FCInterNews), Inzaghi shed light on what to expect ahead of the showdown clash.

“We have to think game by game. There are four to go, and each is more important than the other. The lads reached many finals. Tomorrow’s one will be the 16th match in 53 days. We have done well while managing the team through rotation. There is a small disappointment because we will not have Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Milan Skriniar, but it’s inevitable to have problems like this given all the contests.”

Despite the UEFA Champions League final against Manchester City looming on the horizon, Inzaghi is confident of seeing his team focused.

“We know the sacrifices we’ve made. The only thing that won’t be lacking is commitment. Then we’ll face an opption that will try to bring the trophy home like us. We’ll have to be good at managing the situation together as a team.”

Inzaghi finally shone a ray of hope on a potential return for PSG-bound Milan Skriniar before the end of the season.

“He hasn’t worked with the team yet. He’ll have a consultation on Thursday. I think he might be available for the last two fixtures.”

Inter have everything on the line as the final four matches dawn upon them.

They face Fiorentina in the cup final first before playing back-to-back Serie A games against Atalanta and Torino with the aim of a top-four finish. Pep Guardiola’s men will await Inzaghi and co. in Istanbul for the biggest match of them all on June 10th.
