Inzaghi Gears Up for Match between Real Madrid and Inter

Inter will gun for the top position in the group tomorrow but will have to defeat Real Madrid away. Simone Inzaghi addressed the game: “It will be an important one for us. We both qualified, but we care about having a great showing. We did well in the first match, but it was not enough.”

Karim Benzema will be absent due to a calf injury: “He is a key player for them, but we coaches have to live with these situations. Luka Jovic scored and provided an assist when he subbed in.”

Inter have found consistency in the past two months: “We needed to get used to one another, even though we had good displays right away. We are riding a positive streak, which built up some self-esteem.”

“Carlo Ancelotti’s career speaks for itself. It is always a pleasure to talk football with him. I am happy he is doing well in La Liga, where they have a nice lead. He needs to be commended for how much he won.”

Inzaghi provided some updates from the Inter infirmary: “Andrea Ranocchia, Matteo Darmian, and Martin Satriano will not be present. Joaquin Correa suffered a thigh problem against Roma, and it is a pity because he was growing. He was in peak shape after all the practices and traveling. Lautaro Martinez is fine, as he did not have any real issue. Stefan De Vrij and Aleksandar Kolarov will be assessed the final practice.”

“Inter measured up to Real Madrid in the first fixture and would have deserved more. Our fans will be with us tomorrow, albeit in enemy territory. We will try to play with personality and confidence, knowing that we already achieved something important as we had not qualified to the knockout stage in ten years.”
