Inzaghi: “Inter Must Prove to Be Strong in Europe Too”

Inter will look to overtake Sheriff Tiraspol tomorrow. Simone Inzaghi sat down with the press: “We are coming off two excellent games that we made look easy even though they were not. We did not concede much and rotated a lot. Everybody answered well, and that is very pleasing for any coach. It will be a key game: we have to prove to be a strong team in Europe too.”

Inzaghi looked back at the first game between the two sides: “We faced Sheriff with great respect. They have clear potential, and we are aware we will need a good performance. They have a few interesting contributors and did not defeat Real Madrid and Shakhtar Donetsk just out of luck. We will have to be balanced to halt their counter-attacks. The Derby will be important, but I am solely focused on the upcoming match. We know we have to take home points in both of these fixtures.”

Inzaghi was asked why Inter did not practice Tuesday: “We preferred it that way. We came here to see the stadium, and we congratulate them because we found an excellent structure and pitch.”

The coach concluded with some remarks about the offense: “We have the best attack in Serie A. We like to build and create. The Udinese tilt was not easy, and we had a lot of chances, taking several shots. We have to continue playing like in the past two contests. We need to keep producing while maintaining the balance.”
