Inzaghi Left Fuming as Inter Drop Points Against Bologna

Inter squandered a 2-0 lead in their last Serie A outing before the international break as Bologna fought back to eke out a 2-2 draw at Giuseppe Meazza. Simone Inzaghi’s men were on course to extend a three-match winning home league run against Rossoblu but failed to get it over the line.

Francesco Acerbi and Lautaro Martinez fired Inter 2-0 up after just 14 minutes, sending the Meazza crowd into their dreamland. Little did they know, Riccardo Orsolini and Joshua Zirkzee would haul back a significant deficit by the 55th minute and maintain Bologna’s scintillating unbeaten run in Serie A.

There’s no excuse for Inter despite their utmost effort to regain the lead in the last 40 minutes of play. They were masters of their fate today and had no one but themselves to blame for drawing their first home league game for the first time in over a year. It’s no wonder Inzaghi was furious at the post-match conference.

It’s normal that I’m angry, as are the players,” the Inter boss said, as quoted by Tuttomercatoweb. “This is the second time we’ve taken the lead and not won.

Inzaghi blasted his side’s lackluster approach after going two goals up.

Today, we drew due to some carelessness that we shouldn’t have committed,” he continued.

However, the Inter manager believes the hsots deserved more for everything they showed today, especially after Bologna’s second goal.

In the first half we could have scored more goals, and in the second it was one-way traffic after their equalizer. However, there can’t be these kinds of switch-offs at this level. We can’t have these simple errors.
