Inzaghi Rules Out Three Players for “Special” Game against Lazio

Simone Inzaghi previewed the Lazio game today: “We will have seven games in short order. We did not have many people here during the break, but they worked very hard. The international players returned in fine form despite some knocks. The Biancocelesti played well in the Derby and in Europe. They have a capable coach and will be angry after the last game.”

“Alexis Sanchez and Arturo Vidal will not be called up. They would have landed in Rome at 3 am. Stefano Sensi is out as well. He has resumed practicing fully, but he is not fully pain-free yet. I hope he will recover for the next game. I will talk with Lautaro Martinez, Joaquin Correa, and Matias Vecino to see how they feel. La Liga made a wise decision postponing the matches, but we should have addressed this problem at the start of the season.”

Inzaghi will be facing his past: “It will not be a normal game for me, as I spent 22 years at Lazio. It will be emotional as their players gave me everything for years. It will be special to meet the behind-the-scenes guys and the fans. We achieved great goals together. I will accept any reception. Claudio Lotito and Igli Tare were very important to me, and I will never stop thanking them.”

“I thought it would take more time for Denzel Dumfries to integrate, but he listens and practices very well. He has already played a lot and will continue to improve as he learns the language. I have a few options for the attack. Martin Satriano will be in the mix too, on top of Ivan Perisic and Hakan Calhanoglu, who suffered a sprain with Turkey. I will have to evaluate Martinez and Correa very carefully.”
