Italiano and Fiorentina Execs Primed for Key Summit

Vincenzo Italiano will soon meet the Fiorentina brass to discuss his contract and the transfer market strategies. The coach has one more year on his contract with the club, with an option for the following season. He will stay at the helm, barring profound divergences and a stunning turn of event. But he will call for multiple reinforcements.

According to Calciomercato, the gaffer believes the squad needs eight additions. The Viola will look to qualify for the group stage of the European Conference League through the playoff. They would need a deeper roster if they made it to remain competitive in Serie A.

Italiano will stress that Fiorentina have to find a new goalie. The management has not zeroed in on one candidate. Guglielmo Vicario is considered too expensive. The swap deal to onboard Pierluigi Gollini is tricky. The management is prioritizing signing an Italian shot-stopper. Dodo has become the main target at right-back, but Shakhtar Donetsk ask for €15M. Raoul Bellanova seems headed to Inter. The gaffer will also request a fourth center-back and a new backup for Cristiano Biraghi.

The chances of Lucas Torreira returning are vanishing, La Gazzetta dello Sport informs. Fiorentina and Italiano like Ederson a lot, but he is very pricey. Adrien Tameze, Stefano Sensi and Montpellier’s Teji Savanier are more attainable in the midfield, Tuttomercatoweb informs. The Viola need to substitute Gaetano Castrovilli too, as he is out until January with a major knee injury.

Up front, the club is unlikely to pick up the €15M option to buy out  Krzysztof Piatek, but they are open to another loan spell if Hertha Berlin will grant it. Arthur Cabral will be given another opportunity. Milan Djuric is on their radar as a reserve, Alfredo Pedullà informs. His contract with Salernitana runs out in June.
