Italy manager Luciano Spalletti has opened the door to Matias Soule and Andrea Colpani’s national team introductions. Both players have been impressive for Frosinone and Monza, respectively, at the start of the new Serie A campaign.
Soule has flourished under Eusebio Di Francesco’s stewardship at Frosinone. Leaving Juventus on a season-long loan has proved the best possible choice for the highly-rated youngster. He has tallied two goals and one assist in six Serie A appearances for the newly-promoted outfit.
As for Colpani, he has gone from strength to strength at the Brianteo, netting four times in eight league starts for Monza. The 24-year-old’s sensational form has attracted attention from title-bidding Inter, amongst others. But Spalletti has also laid eyes on the versatile midfielder.
“Soule and Colpani are two names we have in our sights. I spoke to one of them, not yet to the other, but we are keeping a close eye on both of them,” the Italy coach said, as quoted by Tuttomercatoweb.
“They are doing very well in Serie A and we must give opportunities for those who are pushing to get into the squad and are young. They are doing very well in Serie A and we must give opportunities for those who are pushing to get into the squad and are young.“
Injuries to several first-team stars and the infamous betting scandal have crippled Spalletti’s options during the October international break. But the good thing for Italy is that they have a pool of talents to choose between in the future.
