Capello Doubts Zaniolo Transfer to Juventus Will Work

Supporting Italy boss Roberto Mancini’s comments, ex-Milan and Juventus tactician Fabio Capello has warned Roma talent Nicolò Zaniolo of ‘risking the loss of his talent eventually.’ The forward is in the midst of a transfer saga that is now drawing attention to the Bianconeri’s perceived gamble by signing him, as reflected by the iconic gaffer himself.

The manager spoke to La Gazzetta dello Sport and shed thoughts on what he thinks would be a disastrous deal between his two former clubs.

“Sometimes I wonder if Zaniolo would be useful to Juventus. After all they have signed Di Maria and already have Cuadrado. I can’t understand. Today it’s like this, but the market is not over yet. He has a great talent but he risks losing it. He must be careful of those around him and must take care of himself all year long.”

The former Real Madrid coach then gave the example of Azzurri legend Roberto Baggio.

“He reminds me of Baggio, who suffered very serious knee injuries, but he was still himself after the age of 30. He paid attention to specific workouts, he was very careful. If you give up, you risk a relapse. It would be a shame for Italian football and for Zaniolo too, and Juventus would suffer on both the sporting and economic levels”

Roma, who have already shortlisted a fellow Italian star Domenico Berardi, are looking to execute a cash-only deal with any interested suitor that would rise up to €50-60M. It has already been reported that Juventus are preparing a big-money bid for the mercurial forward.
