Giacomo Raspadori cannot wait to get started under former Napoli boss Luciano Spalletti, as he expressed great satisfaction in reuniting with him in the Italy national team. The Azzurri take on North Macedonia and Ukraine in back-to-back UEFA Euro Qualifier clashes, with Raspadori expected to start afresh in the new Spalletti era.
The Sassuolo youth product praised the ex-Roma and Inter boss in a talk to RaiSport (via TuttoNapoli).
“Rediscovering Spalletti in Coverciano was a great emotion for those who had him as a coach, even for just a year like me. He had a fantastic journey in Naples, he is a person who he really wants to pass on his ideas and do well. We are very happy to find him again, we who know him but also the others”

Raspadori then thanked Roberto Mancini, under whom he received his first senior call-up back in June 2021.
“As for Mancini, I can only thank him. I reached the national team without a great path behind me, when I was at Sassuolo the call was unexpected.”
Raspadori scored 6 goals in 34 appearances under Spalletti and 5 in 13 Italy caps under Mancini.
