Jose Mourinho Handed Two-Match Ban for Torino Outburst

Jose Mourinho will sit out of Roma’s next two matches in Serie A due to uncalled for behavior during the Giallorossi’s 1-1 draw with Torino last weekend before the World Cup break. The two-match suspension arrives for the Special One following his repeated attempts to distract referee Antonio Rapuano towards the end of the game against the Granata.

The Sports Judge released an official statement (via MilanLive) with regard to Mourinho’s dismissal which arrived with a straight red card by Rapuano.

”For having, in the 44th minute of the second half, entering the field of play, contested a referee’s decision by assuming a threatening attitude towards the referee and repeatedly addressing him with a seriously offensive epithet.”

This means that the Roma boss will first miss the game against Bologna on 4 January at the Stadio Olimpico, before his side travel to San Siro for the blockbuster encounter against the Rossoneri four days later.
