However, the Portuguese tactician is an admirer of one of his ex-players at Tottenham and reportedly wants to bring him to the Italian capital.
According to Calciomercato.com, Tanguy Ndombele fits the profile of a player the Special one is looking for, with a potential reunion in foresight.
The French midfielder has a valid contract with the Spurs until June 2025. Ndombele has a market value of €50m, according to transfermarkt.
The pair had a strained relationship during their time at Tottenham.
The 25-year-old has not been used very rarely by Nuno Espirito Santo. He has appeared only four times for Spurs this season – with only 301 registered minutes.
