Juric Rallies Torino to Focus After Monza Deadlock

Monza loanee forward Gianluca Caprari scored a belter in the dying minutes against the Granata to cancel Antonio Sanabria’s early second-half strike and deny the hosts a first league win in five matches at the Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino. Ivan Juric saw his side jump into the Serie A top half but rallied them not to lose focus ahead of four challenges that lie ahead before the end of the season.

Speaking to Torino TV (via FCInterNews) after the 1-1 draw against Monza, Juric revealed his opinion of the result, which now leaves them in 9th position.

“The team had a great match and dominated for long stretches, then in the end there seemed to be that very clear penalty and you feel bad. We would have deserved a victory, but then Caprari scored a great goal, which showed Monza’s qualities. We have been doing things well for some time. We need to improve but for today there is regret because the lads did well until the end.”

The Granata next face four teams at the opposite ends of the Serie A table.

“We hope to recover as well as possible. We have to do our best because we are in a good moment. Now we have four very difficult matches left, first against two teams fighting agaisnt relegation, plus Inter and Fiorentina.”

Juric will travel to his former club Hellas Verona next weekend, after which his side will welcome Fiorentina at home. Spezia await the Bulls at the end of May before they end the season with an exciting clash against Inter at home.
