Juventus Accelerating Talks to Renew Young Gun’s Miserable Contract

Juventus have reportedly reopened talks to extend Kenan Yildiz’s contract after deeming him crucial to Thiago Motta’s project. Gazzetta dello Sport claims the Bianconeri are keen to sort out the youngster’s renewal in the coming days.

Yildiz teamed up with Juventus in the summer of 2022 but had to wait until the halfway point of the 2023/24 season to make his senior breakthrough. The 19-year-old hit the ground running from the get-go, prompting the club to offer him a bumper new deal.

However, renewal talks reached an impasse in the spring as Yildiz decided to change his representative. He signed an extension last August, pledging his future to Juventus until 2028. But the Turin side handed him a salary unworthy of a rising Serie A star.

A €300,000 yearly salary will unlikely keep Yildiz committed to Juventus. Therefore, the record-time Italian champions want to improve the terms and renew his contract until 2029. And they’re eager to close things out on short notice.

Juventus are aware of growing interest in Yildiz’s signature. Borussia Dortmund and Liverpool are at the head of the queue. But as the prodigious forward braces up for his first European Championship with Turkey, the Bianconeri fear he could draw more unwanted attention.

With that in mind, Juventus are pressing the matter. They hope to get things done as soon as possible. And while they’re doing everything they can to keep hold of Yildiz, Federico Chiesa is on the chopping block. It will take between €25-30 million to price him out of the Allianz Stadium.
