Juventus Actively Challenging Real Madrid to Hire Massimiliano Allegri

Juventus want to beat out the fierce competition to appoint Massimiliano Allegri. The return of the former boss is their top choice to replace Andrea Pirlo on the bench. The Bianconeri do not want to wait much longer and are willing to match any contract offered to him, La Stampa and La Gazzetta dello Sport report.

Allegri attended a charity match yesterday, playing alongside head honchos John Elkann, Andrea Agnelli, and Pavel Nedved and against Pirlo. On the other hand, his agent was in Madrid to negotiate his deal, but the situation is on hold until Zinedine Zidane will make his decision.

The Juventus brass is well aware of the intense courtship of the Merengues and wants to anticipate them with a lucrative two-year pact. Instead, they have no certainties they would be able to get the French gaffer should he leave.

The Bianconeri are making a strong push because they think more teams will join the fray. Inter would become a very viable option if they parted ways with Antonio Conte, as it is now likely. Allegri has maintained an excellent relationship with CEO Giuseppe Marotta after their shared time in Turin. Moreover, PSG are not fully satisfied with Mauricio Pochettino, and they too hold the Italian coach in high esteem and already tried to hire him in the past.

The return of the four-time Scudetto winner would lead to the departure of chief director Fabio Paratici. The executive was the biggest proponent of replacing him with Maurizio Sarri two years ago.
